About Us

Welcome to HUMC!

We're glad you're here. Come find out a little more about us, then come join us and you'll discover how welcoming we really are. If you still have questions, please contact us.

How do I get there?

Follow this link for directions:

What is worship like?

We currently have two worship services, one at 11am and one at 8:30am. The 11:00 service is a wonderful traditional service with organ music, a full choir, rich prayers, and a sermon that explores, explains, and applies the Bible. The 8:30 service is Blended, the music that is played can range from contemporary to rich hymns. The sermon is the same at both services. Still not sure exactly what to expect? Try here.

Is there a dress code?

Not really. You'll find a bit of everything, but not many ties.

What is there for children?

A nursery for ages 0-3, staffed with adults, is available for worship services. At 9:45am there is Church School for all ages of children and adults. During the 11am service, young children can leave the sanctuary if you like and join in children's activities in another room.

How large a church is HUMC?

HUMC is about 500 members. On any given Sunday about 200 will be in worship at our two worship services. We're big enough to offer a variety of good programs, but small enough to where you won't feel lost.

What does it mean to be a United Methodist?

That's a big question. Here's a link to the denomination's web site that might help www.umc.org

How would you describe yourself as a congregation?

We are a community-oriented bunch. We are proud that many community organizations use our building. Our house is a little messy because we are busy doing many things. Our mission is to grow, both as people and as a congregation. Not much stands still around here for very long, and yet we still work within the heritage of those who founded our church in the early 1960's, and the United Methodist Church. We've summed all this up in our official mission statement: Worship, Grow Disciples, Love Our Neighbors.
