Gentle Touch

Gentle Touch is a ONE Group formed for women 

interested in Bible Study.

Gentle Touch meets the 2nd & 4th Thursdays

 at 10 a.m. in the church parlor 

Our mission is to coordinate bereavement meals for our church family.  Sometimes these meals are at the church, other times they are a the families home.   

A Gentle Touch

    The Lord said, "Go out and stand on the mountain...for the Lord is about to pass by." Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind,  After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake.  After the earth quake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper.  When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave.   

 I Kings 19:11-13

    Like Elijah, so often we expect God's approach to be harsh, violent, fiery.  Instead, He often passes by with a gentle whisper.  Hundreds of years after Elijah's experience, Jesus described himself as "gentle and humble in heart" (Matthew 11:29).  And Paul preached, "Let your gentleness be evident to all: (Phil 4:5)

    Today, as He does every day, God is going to pass by.  But don't look for Him to erupt or explode.  Don't listen for a harsh reprimand.  Instead, listen for His tender whispers of encouragement.  In His gentleness is all the wisdom and power you need.  And as you receive His gentle touch, you will learn to be more gentle with yourself and other

    Our Prayer:  Dear God, I want to experience Your gentleness today. I want to share Your gentleness with others. Teach me Your gentleness, Jesus.  Quiet my spirit as You pass by so I will hear Your gentle whisper.  Amen.
