The United Methodist Men's group at our church ranges in size from 12 to 20 of our adult male members. We are basically a service organization and help run the church and parish building operations. Our activities are open to all adult men in our church.
We participate in Christian service projects like assisting Habitat for Humanity or the Western N.C. Methodist Disaster Relief with our construction skills. Additionally, one of our missions is a monthly visit to Jackson Training School. We also run the Christmas tree sale each year as our major fundraiser, along with a fish fry and other similar activities. Some of our funds go to support church mission and youth activities. Some is disbursed to charitable organizations in our community. We meet the first Sunday of each month in the fellowship hall for breakfast at 7:30 am. A home cooked breakfast is only $4, but all first timers eat free. We hold a brief business meeting after the meal and are finished in time to attend early worship service if you choose.
