Stepping Stones Preschool serves children who are three or four years old by August 31 of the school year. Our three year old program is offered MWF or T/TH and our four year old program is offered MWF, T/TH, or M - F. All classes meet from 9:00 - 1:00.
Registration for the public begins the first Tuesday in February at 9:00.
The purpose of Stepping Stones Preschool is to provide a safe, loving and nurturing environment in which preschoolers can develop spiritually, socially, emotionally, intellectually and physically at their own pace.
Stepping Stones Preschool acknowledges and respects the different religions and cultures represented in our school. We encourage each family to attend a church of their choice and certainly welcome families to worship at Harrisburg United Methodist Church. You may call the church office at 704-455-2311 for questions.
Stepping Stones Preschool uses The Creative Curriculum for Early Childhood. This curriculum provides a basic structure for our program. Because we know that young children learn best through active interactions with their social and physical environment, the curriculum keeps the focus on the environment.
Our classrooms are organized into learning centers that include: blocks, manipulatives, art, dramatic play, sensory areas, movement/circle time, library corner, science & outdoors. Developmentally appropriate activities in the classroom promote fine and gross motor skills, intellectual, social/emotional, language and self-care development.
All staff members strive to promote the cognitive, social-emotional, and physical growth goals of the students they teach.
