The Harrisburg UMC Missions Committee is excited to host a meal packing event on Friday, April 26, at 10 AM in the HUMC Fellowship Hall!
Recently, some of our team visited Lifeline Ministry, a local meal-packing organization similar to Rise Against Hunger, but with a focus on keeping meals in our community. This event will directly support food pantries, homeless shelters, and those in need in our area.
Our goal is to pack 10,000 meals, which include soybeans, dehydrated vegetables, seasoning, and rice—a nutritious and shelf-stable meal for families in need.
How You Can Help:
🔹 Unloading & Setup – We need volunteers at 8:30 AM to help unload the truck and set up.
🔹 Meal Packing – We need around 70 volunteers to start packing at 10 AM. The process takes approximately 1.5 hours.
You Are Invited… As we enter the sacred days of Holy Week, we invite you to walk with us through the story of love, sacrifice, and resurrection. Whether you are a regular part of our church family or someone who joins us from time to time, this is a season for everyone.
Come as you are—bring your questions, your hopes, your burdens—and discover again the power and promise of Easter. There is something deeply moving about worshiping together during these days, and your presence would make the celebration more complete.
Let this be the year you say yes to the journey. We’d be honored to have you with us.
